Help me please all this talk of needles has got me thinking. I’ve been working with circular needle’s and would love to buy some better ones the plastic coating on mine keeps rubbing off. where’s the best place to get the turbo addi one’s from.

Hi, trammyd here, I do a lot of baby clothes knitting and so work with 3.25mm and 4mm needles.  I find that with little hands the aluminium childrens needles are the best but when I have lots of stitches, for a blanket/shawl, I use circular.  It fascinates many people who don’t knit when they find you using the circulars.

hi everyone, I know it sounds like a stupid thing to ask but what sort of needles do any of you rate as the quietest to knit with? Yes I know I can just see you all thinking Why? I’m afraid I have a problem with my hubby who every so often has a winge about not being able to hear the television for my clicking pins. I try to sit as far away from him as possible but he still says that its too loud. Last night he spat the dummy and stormed off too bed at 10pm. Mind you he was already fed up that there was nothing on he wanted to watch but “just as well” was his parting shot “as i cant hear anything anyway”. I have to confess i usually use aluminiums or plastic for larger sizes. Does anyone else have this problem or am I the only one with moody man syndrome. NIcky

Hi Nicky
My hubby used to throw me the occasional dirty look while I was knitting and then turn the TV up! It didn’t stop me knitting though he he
I now only use Harmony KP and they are so quiet and soft and warm etc etc ... Do you get the impression I love Harmony’s?  LOL

Bamboo needles are also quiet, but if you really want to upset your husband, A knitting machine is very loud LOL

LOL  smile lol, very very tempting but I’m not ready for the divorce court just yet. Oh dear what a good excuse to go and buy some lovely new knitting bits and all in the name of keeping peace and harmony in my marriage. A much better result than slowing down to half speed to try to stop the pins clicking so loudly. Thank you.

I also love the shiny metal needles and was lucky enough to have some vintage ones that used to belong to my grandmother passed onto me. I just haven’t seen anything else like them for ease of knitting, and the vibrant colours are fun too!

i completely agree with missmagic. I love my shiny metal needles. I live for these:

I’ve been treating myself on payday for the last few months to two pairs of Boyes from the internet. I’m really looking forward to a project I can use my pretty new freebie needles with. But I’m just a sucker for anything pretty.

Has anyone used knitlite needles?
