Not yet Suse I am just busy drooling over the pics and filling a basket full of suitable oddments as everything seems to take lots of bits and pieces rather than whole balls.
I am busy stitching up an easter bunny just now (yes I know he’s a bit late but easter was a bit early ha ha) and today he looks like he may just become a bunny in the end and not just a pile of strange twisted bits of knitting with loads of spaghetti ends knotting themselves together, fingers crossed!
I ge a lot of my books out of the library, see if I like them and there are enough patterns that I like before I buy them, if only one or two scan them,
I’ve just got the Sublime 2 with some gorgeous baby knits in them, which will keep my knitting for my grandaugher going for a while !! x Janet

Lucinda Guys’ books are beautiful (as are her patterns) for kids and I love Erika Knight too. I have to agree with Janick, Sublime baby pattern books are too cute for words.
My hubby bought me a copy of ‘best of interweave knits’ for xmas and it’s got to be my favourite knitting book at the moment. Apart from the patterns, the book covers different techniques in each chapter - starting with the basics of casting on, right through to lace knitting, seaming etc..
Another one I like is the ‘Mason Dixon’ book. I found it a little basic, but I did enjoy knitting dishcloths. I never knew that slip stitch patterns use less yarn than standard colour work! I guess it’s obvious once you think about it but it had never occured to me.
Has anyone got Vogue Knitting? I’ve seen it mentioned on a few blogs and it looks good. Have added it to my Amazon wish list (for Christmas, already had my birthday this year (months ago!)).
I was a little naughty yesterday (Lise are you watching) and ordered 3 books from play.com. I say little because all 3 books came to less than £17 but I haven’t confessed my sins yet to hubby, I’ll enjoy them first rather than him moan about more money on knitting!!!!! Fingers crossed they don’t turn up Sat. I decided I have loads of magazines and patterns etc but only one or two books. Well the situation just had to be remedied didn’t it!!!!!

As I’ve said before on LKF, that’s great, please all do use your local library when you can, and if they haven’t got what you want, hassle them to buy it in for stock. It keeps all the rural libraries open and improves their craft shelves stock too (and last but not least, keeps me in a fantastic lovely job I adore too!) But am I being biased?
Good point Knitdakini. I asked at my small local library for knitting books after I couldn’t find any and hey presto there were none! I have since looked up the central library online and keep it bookmarked to search books I’m interested in.

All you have to do re: ‘fessing up to hubby is tell him last week’s shopping spree total; which, strictly speaking went up a bit since I posted.
Two more books - Knitting Lingerie Style and Victorian Lace Today (in preparation for the knitalong on here). Oh and a retractable tape measure. And a new card for the digicam. So that’s up another £40 ish.
I’m sure he won’t begrudge you £17 after that little lot!
I know, actually he has no room to talk he smokes and drinks which costs far more than my knitting.
It’s also the fact that I am a little untidy with my knitting stuff and leave it lying around which drives him nuts!!! (It’s a slow burning plan but working very nicely thanks) Last night was a good one sorting out all the needles for my swap with Natalie so three bags, one box, several piles of needles, a pile of rubbish (you know yarn labels biscuit wrappers etc that get stuffed in there).
He wasn’t going out but changed his mind last night. Yey. Thursday night is usually dribble fountain night for him. peace and quiet night for me so I can watch my programmes like Heroes. Darn I missed the next episode on bbc3 last night doh.
I may be about to upset him again, have just seen another yarn shop advertised close to me so I’m going in a bit to check it out. It will be too painful to not buy anything. I’ll check the bank balance through squinted eyes before I go, maybe it will make it look a bit healthier before I go!!!
Going back to the books - has anyone got “Two Balls or less”? Sorry! Sounds so rude! I want to have a look at a copy before I order it, and cannot find a physical copy I can look at. I saw on the synopsis that it has crochet in it - and as I cannot crochet I wanted to know how much there is to see if it worth getting. If anybody got it - is it worth getting? What are the knitting projects like in it? I thought it could be a good odds and ends busting book - so if anybody can enlighten me on it I would be very grateful. Thanks.
