I only ever created granny squares as a child!  Since purchasing the Happy Hooker book I can’t stop crocheting.  I made the mohair shawl for Ladies Day at Chester next week and I’m now making flowers to finish off a clutch bag.
But now my newly rekindled interest in wool has sent me into overdrive I’ve gone knit mad as well.

I can’t stop !! tongue rolleye

I’ve been teaching myself to crochet over the last couple of weeks, and I have been a little obsessive about it!  I’ve brought it into work, taken it away when we went to Stratford upon Avon for a weekend away and my OH is getting a bit bored of it.  But..... I have mastered it enough to crochet a chocolate chip cookie for my friend’s little girl, which is the whole reason I started learning it in the first place.

I am creating a whole tea party for her lol!  So far she’s got two slices of battenburg cake, 2 chocolate chip cookies (one of which she’s got already) and half a victoria slice.  When I’ve done the whole lot I’ll take a photo.

I’m not very good at sewing up, so this is giving me lots of practice.

I’ve started doing the bunting from this month’s LK, its a great stash buster and a good way to practise maintaining tension. I’ve no idea what I’ll use the bunting for, but I dont care!!

Ah but if it looks pretty who cares if you just drape the bunting round a spare corner in a bedroom!  I do like a pretty thing!  Hence buying three sets of solar powered fairy lights, one with stars and hearts, one with clear dragonflies and the other just the bulbs - one for the Caravan (got it hanging on the inside of the van living room window with the solar panel wire going out of the window onto the roof!) one of the other sets is going to be used on one of those metal trees that you hang on your wall, I am going to put it behind an arch I’ve got in the garden with a wisteria growing on it; and the last one is for another metal tree which is going to hang in the hallway when we eventually get around to finishing the decorating out there… That’s without all the knitting projects!  Oh boy am I (sort of) glad I can’t crochet.  Yet…

LOL

R yes they are rather glorious!  The dragonflies light up the whole of the front of the Caravan when the lights are out - only problem is I can’t knit in the dark to be able to enjoy them!  I have to admit I’m a bit of a sucker for pretty lights - my dad said my old flat was keeping the national grid in profit for the whole year when I put my lights up for Christmas!  LOL

That sounds so lovely..I am as bad about fairy lights at christmas...I don’t think I could get away them with all year...tho I love that look of the tall twigs with the tiny lights for the hall.
I worked in a yoga studio once where they had a false ceiling put in and it was studded with the tiny lights, so when u turned off the mains during the relaxation phase it looked like stars. I have yet to convince the hubby we need this in our sitting room rolleyes

Yes I can see that that may be problematic.  I am very lucky cos my hubby suggested that we put fairy lights ON THE LIVING ROOM CEILING the first Christmas we lived together, as we had a textured ceiling so he didn’t mind putting up hooks to hold the lights.  It was lovely - you’d come home and as you came into the road you’d come round the bend and could see the lights on our forth floor ceiling.  We had them set on a timer so as soon as it started getting dark they’d come on!  We can’t have them now as our new house has flat ceilings - and boy do we miss them!  On the twig lights in the hallway front = they’re really nice too = we have a set which I’ve put in a tall vase with glass pebbles to weight it down (otherwise it fell over a lot!) they’re really pretty too, we got some jewelled flowers to go in the vase with them and the lights bounce off of the jewels.  Ah it’s so pretty!
