I must confess, I’m a serial starter! I seem to find a new pattern to knit every week, there’s just too many yummy yarns out there to tempt me. I can see why my boyfriend rolls his eyes whenever I get excited about a new pattern now…

Right now I’m making:

A cabled hat for my dad
A crossover top for myself
A pair of socks (knitted flat!)

And I’ve also got about 15 things in my knitting bag, hmmm…

Bit plasticy but will do the job, trouble is got spoilt with the lovely anodised needle pins with the mag, they are really nice!!

just two projects on the go at the momemt, a scarf for me , which I’ve got by our elderly pc for when its taking its time to boot up or get to a web page, then I can knit a row, and a baby cardi. But the cupboard in the spare room seems to be filling up with various packs of yarn and mags with fab patterns which I must do. I didn’t realise this was so addicitive… rolleyes

I’ve got:

A baby cardigan, missing the arms!
Half a pair of socks
An unfinished cushion cover using lovely plant dyed wool from a lady in the hebrides!
And a pig.

It’s very therapeutic writing it down. Now I just need to tick some things off the list!

Tick lists are alwasy the way forward! I need to sort through my stash and remember what each bit of yarn is for - I don’t buy yarn without having a project in mind, mostly; so everything should in theory be earmarked!

guess what’s just been frogged! I got into such a tangle with this eyelash yarn, so its been rewound and I’ll forget about that one for a while.
I’m intrigued by the thought of a knitted light sabre though…

Having more than one thing on the go is catching....I used to always finish one thing before I would let myself start another project...but now I can’t resist having a fun thing or some socks on the go as well as the main thing I am knitting.  It helps the boredom...no that is a lie because I am never bored when I am knitting...but a little change is good.
Hope you are all having a good knitting day.

A knitted lightsaber, please post some pics when you finished I would love to see that. Just think if the idea caught on you could make a fortune from all those other star wars fans out there. You’d better write down how you knit it very carefully, just in case.  nicky

Oh forgot to mention my current projects I was so amused by the lightsaber. Two jumpers for me on the go including an afore mentioned self patterning yarn venture which I became fed up with on Thurs night. I did start a new project on Fri and finished that last night and it came out quite well. It was for my 3 year old. I’ve just come back from the shops and bought some more wool (as you do) to start another project for me but I might try a little self control and finish one of the others before I use it. Besides I’ll have to confess my sins to hubby first that I’ve bought even MORE WOOL and I think that can wait a few more days. He’ll be in a good mood at the end of the week as he’ll break up for a weeks holiday on Thursday.  Nicky

Well I agree, you have to show us when it’s finished! My other half is completely into his sci-fi so I’m sure he’d love a knitted lightsabre (he already wants me to make him the ‘Extermiknit’ knitted dalek that’s online)… smile
