I had my first knit group last knit in Birmingham. It was good,I really enjoyed it, another lady who uses this forum (Noodles) came along as well and she is lovely, well all the ladies were lovely and very friendly. There were more new ladies than regulars (3 regulars and 4 newbies alltogether but one lady left early then another lady came along).
It was nice chatting about what everybody was knitting and getting to have a feel of everyone elses projects. The organiser Ruth had bought a few other bits along that had obviously been discussed at previous meetings. So we all had a lovely grope of those as well as you do. A couple of the ladies had been to the wonderwool wales at the weekend and so had fun telling us about very expensive wool £50 a 50g ball and shawl kits for over £500!!!!!
My trouble was I was soo nervous I forgot to get myself a drink at first!!I was also supposed to txt hubby to say that I got there ok and forgot for nearly an hour. I’m also full of a cold and have trouble hearing people when there is a lot of background noise anyway but last night I found it especially hard as it feels at the moment like I’m in a swimming pool (all echoey etc) and in a busy pub with background music I did struggle a little to hear a lot of what was being said.
But I did have a lovely time and am looking forward to the next meeting and Lynda if your reading thank you for your company.
Oh and we only got comments on knitting from one guy in the pub who laughingly said he had never seen anything like it even at home in Ireland and the barman who asked for his scarf as we were on our way out at the end.

It certainly would but we would have to turn up to a venue unannounced, if they knew we were coming they would batton down the hatches and scarper for sure.

It’s OK we would’nt tell them you were to be there. You are only diddy so we could sneak you in when no-one was looking. LOL
