I just know that this is going to sound odd but hey - we’re all friends!! A friend of mine has a bunny which has suffered from a mite and it’s fur has come out in places. This time of year, it’s a nightmare with the weather for poor old Sticky Bunny and she’s asked if its possible to knit up a bunny coat - bit like the dog ones. Any ideas????!!! I haven’t got a clue where to start...........

Hi Impychickno1, have you tried googling “knitting patterns for pets”? Not sure if you will find one for a rabbit but you may get something very close size wise. I have just tried and there are a lot of sites coming up and clicking on a couple I found patterns for cat coats etc. Even if you dont find an exact fit they are great sites for browsing round and you should get some ideas.  smile

it seems quite sensible to knit a coat for an unhappy bunny, just try adapting dog coat for a terrier. dont use angora though, that might be weird.....

Well, I did it!!!  Adapted a pattern from http://labpugglechifreepatterns.blogspot.com/2007/10/nursing-button-ribbed-and-mock-ribbed.html, just used 4mm needles and DK (without angora!) and it seems to fit fine!!

Bunny Update!!

Sticky is now very happy with his coat, after a short period of “Not sure about this, what’s happening!!” He is making a full recovery but now I have the local rabbit society (?) wanting me to make a load. Oh heck.........
