I knit for the above charity.
each year they bring a group of russian children to england for a months holiday. All the children they deal with are affected by nuclear radiation poisoning, most have or have had cancer of some sort, and various other ailments.

I started knitting for them only this week. I know someone who is hosting two children in june.

The months holiday here increases the childrens life expectancy by two years.

I am knitting socks, mittens, hats, scarves, blankets and toys for them all.

I have been given stashes of wool from friends and family, and even some from people I have never met before.

I really enjoy knitting, but didnt know what to knit. I sat at home everyday thinking what can I knit next. Now i always have something to knit.

the charity do have a website, but if you decide to visit I must warn you it can be quite emotional, I cried reading about the children!

Aw Janie, what a worthwhile cause, God bless you.  Yeah, I get so emotional about all the pain and suffering in the world but I am still deciding which cause to support myself.

can you post a link for chernobyl? I know we’ve had some kids in our village from chernobyl and it can do them a lot of good to have the clean fresh air of scotland for a month.
