The next meeting is Tuesday 4th March 7.30pm at the Roxi Bar on the High Street! All abilities welcome, bring your needles and come join the fun!
See you there!!
Well, I would… but I think my OH would have something to say about that cos I’d be skiving our mammoth decorating project (and we really need to get it done - the cat might explode if confined to only half the house for much longer...). *Hopefully* by the time the next one comes along in a fortnight’s time we should be all done… oh, no hang on. He’d probably be miffed at that too - and rightly so, the 15th is our first wedding anniversary! Eek… so see you in a month then!
My first time at the Colchester group last night and I really enjoyed it - thanks for making me feel welcome. Definitely be there next time. Looking forward to learning to crochet.

hi Maureen, it was nice to meet you too. I’m glad we didn’t frighten you off! :D
Yes next meeting will be crochet night so anyone who wants to learn or who needs help is more than welcome. There’ll be plenty of spare hooks and yarn to practice on lying about but if you want to bring your own, I’d suggest a 4mm hook and a ball of DK.
Obviously, the crochet isn’t compulsory for those who just want to knit, we’ll be gossiping and drinking just the same as usual
It’s crochet night!
Colchester Stitch’n’Bitch are meeting tonight at Roxi Bar on the High Street from 7.30pm
Lots of us have been talking about having a dabble with crochet, others wanted to get back into it and there are a few experts happy to pass on there supreme knowledge!!!
So, we thought we would have a crochet themed night to learn the basics, pick up some skills and generally have fun - so if you fancy it, come armed with a hook and some DK yarn and join in!
If your not keen on crochet, just bring your latest knit project!
See you there!
Enjoyed trying the crochet last night. Think I may get the hang of it eventually, but it may take some time! A welcome relief in a week of 3 parent meetings at school !!
Thanks Lucy for being so patient when I got in a muddle!
See you all next time

you’re welcome hopefully it didn’t put you off crochet for ever as it can be really fun when you get the hang of it. You might find this website helpful as it’s got lots of quite detailed pictures you can refer to.
Hoping to get along to the next meeting on Tuesday night, it seems like ages since I came and I’ve missed you all!
Anyhow, I just thought I’d let you know I’m doing a craft stall on the 14th June in Frating with lots of home dyed yarn to knit and felt and some of my handbags too. I’m hoping to be able to set my stall up with a couple of chairs to have a bit of a knit in so you’re all more than welcome to come along. I’ll bring all the details along on Tuesday
Last night’s meeting was a quiet one and we had to decamp to The George as Roxi’s was closed for renovation. It made a nice change and we all got to sit on comfy sofa’s too, very civilised
Hope to be back at Roxi’s again in 2 weeks - it’ll be interesting to see what the “new” place looks like.
Didn’t make it last night as needed to finish 5 reports !! Finally done all 30 so handed in and that’s another job ticked off ! Wonder what Roxis will look like next time we meet. Hope to see you all then
