So I realised that I have two cupboards dedicated to yarn...and this is the stash that doesn’t fit. I’m worried that I may not be able to knit all of this in my lifetime- does anyone else feel like that?

I have half a bedroom full and it still escapes throughout the house! Not as bad as my mum though, she’s a quilter and had a perfectly good shed as a workshop, insulated and heated and she aquired so much stash she got the builder to put in a shed extension! Stash building is hereditary!

I have two huge bin bags and 5 storage boxes in the attic full of yarn, i used to knit toys all the time, so most is 100g balls, my mum has filled my old bedroom with about 3 knitting machines & cones of 4ply yarn!I always come down with a bag of yarn as if Im going to knit for hours, as I only have to go up stairs I really only need one ball at a time( is that a song?)xx

My stash is currently scattered between my living room (on a shelf and in a bag), my spare room (in the wardrobe) and my bedroom (in wherever my cat leaves it after he’s done eating it and dragging it around, grrr)

I have enough sock yarn to knit about 65 pairs red face

That doesn’t include my sizeable stash of other yarn too but socks have taken over my world at the minute LOL

Wow, I am feeling a bit better now grin I have a big plastic box in a cupboard, and a couple of overflow small bags, but, I love the idea of cupboards full of wool!

My stash problem is that I have a variety of stashes - fabric, wool for felting, buttons, ribbons, paper, paints, beads… all in little boxes, filling up a cupboard and under a bed.

I think I need to get making!

I have half a bedroom full of stash, and the whole of the spare room as my knitting studio, as well as part of downstairs. All is full fo stash and have to admit, I have collected so much, I now have to use an inventory. I do get round to using stuff, but never seem to have the right shades or current yarns someone else wants me to knit in.

I am quite open to giving stash away, to anyone who wants to knit squares for a blanket for a homeless person.

that is true Nicola, it is your livelihood after all.
Have you told your suppliers that you are going to “bake” with their yarn??

hi, my stash is mainly but not exclusivly under my bed. i also have a cupboard in the living room full and current projects are behind the settee. i have some illicit wool hidden in the kids bedrooms and behind my clothes on the top shelf in my wardrobe. because i have nowhere else to stash it when i find something else in local wool shop i have been leaving it on layby and just taking 1 or 2 balls at a time which i can hide in one of my knitting bags. of course the danger there is i have to visit the shop more often and so see more yarn that i love and so the vicious circle continues. i love it so much i cant help it. honestly lol
