Ohh! I love mittens! Are they for you? One of the first things I ever knitted myself was a pair of mittens… the cuff came up way too short and I ended up having to knit armwarmers to wear with them to keep the cold out!

No not for me,for my youngest. They are an old Patons pattern for mittens which are bunnies or doggies or kittens, just buy changing the colour of the wool & adding ears & eyes,I made some bunny ones for my eldest daughter when she was little, but as usual can only ever find one!!!Will find a hundred pairs in the summer!!along with scarves & vests!!

Ahh the problem of the lost mitten - when I was small my mittens were on a long piece of ribbon that dangled through my the arms of my coat. That way they’d never get lost and they were always on hand!

I had my gloves on strings when I was at uni as I would never ever have been able to find them under a pile of essays!

I’m one of those terrible people who can’t cope with doing one thing at a time… But who feels incredibly guilty about starting something new!

At the minute I only have 2 things on my needles- one of which is a topsy turvy cinderella doll that I’ve been doing for months. I’ve had to keep leaving her and going back to her due to knitting presents for people but now she needs finishing. Shes not a present, shes just a personal challenge as I’m relatively new to knitting.

The second thing on my needles is a bag, from the Rowan Big Easy book, I’m not very far on that but its much quicker to knit as its done on big needles (as opposed to the tiny ones for cinderella)!

I daren’t even think about what I have planned for the needles… :S

I too tend to have several things on the go at the same time. My main project at the moment is a pram blanket for a customer - the 2nd I have made her. But I am trying to use up some yarn given to me, and knitting something for myelf. Its just been unravelled when I realised there would not be enough to finish it. There is also a childs aran jumper I am doing for the shop, that I have been working on for some time. In between times I will hand finish items I have made on the knitting machine - I do have a ribber, but prefer to do the button band on circular needles.

hey i’m knitting socks my first ever and its really is addictive. I love the way it is building up and the pattern is straightforward for a beginner at socks. The book is ‘easy knitted socks’. grin
