It’s that time again :D Roxi’s was due to reopen over the weekend so we should be back there again tomorrow.  Last time we had to decamp to The George Hotel which made a nice change as they have lots of comfy seats but I hope Roxi’s have got our spot reserved as usual

It’s knitting night again.  We’ll be at the back in Roxi’s from 7.30pm (ish)

Hi Lucy. Hope you don’t all think I’m ignoring you as I haven’t been for a few sessions now. Been really busy at school. Not sure if I’ll make it tonight as it’s the last day of term tomorrow and I seem to have stuff to sort etc. Then for the next 2 meetings after this I will be away - visiting my brother in sunny California. Won’t be home again until August 27th, so will be at the next meeting after that. If I don’t make it tonight hope it’s a good evening and I’ll see you all in early September. Have a good summer. Maureen x

Next meeting is tonight 16th Sept.  We’ll be in Roxi’s as usual from about 7.30pm :D

when is the next meeting?

Hi the next one’s on the 30th, we meet every two weeks.  We usually start arriving about 7.30 and we’re usually still chatting at 10.  Stay for an hour, or the whole evening we’re pretty easy going.

We take over the back of the bar, you can’t really miss us and we’ll always find room to squeeze in another couple of chairs around the table

I forget to update this forum sometimes but you can always post a message onto the group website or if you leave a message here I get a reminder too.

It’d be lovely to meet you both.  We’ve got knitters and crocheters so just bring along whatever you’re doing at the moment.

if i do come i’ll have to bring the boyfriend

Great thats 2 days before my birthday, so good excuse to go out!!!!!

well there are comfy seats in the bar and usually the footie on or if he doesn’t mind he can come sit with the girls and listen to us gossip

sorry i missed you guys again last night. I had to go into work and the trains were delayed, so didnt get back in time.  I willl try and make the next one xxxx

Lucy i would love to have a chat with you about spinning, its something iv always wanted to have a go at, i was thinking of having a go at the little hand held spinner (sorry cant remember what i is called)
Does it work out expensive to spin your own? and where do you get the raw materials from?

I didn’t make it along in the end either as I couldn’t get a babysitter but I heard from the girls that Franbob made it along with her mum.  I hope you enjoyed it?

Well I’ll help you where I can with the spinning but I’m still pretty new to it myself. Did you mean a drop spindle?  That’s how I started, I got a kit with spindle and fibre in it.  Is it cheaper to spin your own yarn?  Well, that depends on what yarn you normally knit with.  There are so many places you can get it all from and the sky’s the limit really when it comes to cost, same as yarn. A lot of it comes down to what the fibres are blended with, whether you buy it ready dyed etc.

It’s almost knitting night again.  Did anyone see the article on us in the Gazette last Monday or hear Nadia on BBC Essex last week?

It’s knitting night again already.  It was suggested last week to try out weekly meetings for a while.  Same time, same place just more regular and easier to remember

iv totally lost track of the meeting times!!! i am soo determind to make it!!!! when is the next one?
