Are there any Debbie Macomber fans here? I’ve read the Blossom Street knitting series and really enjoyed them, I think you’d describe them as chick lit for the more mature chick. Each one is based round a knitting class at Lydia’s yarn shop and features four women and how they work out their problems and as a bonus she also gives the patterns for the project which each class is working on – a baby blanket in the first book, socks in the second and prayer shawls in the third.
Best to read them in order because the later ones contain spoilers for the earlier ones –
1. The shop on Blossom Street
2. A good yarn
3. Back on Blossom Street/Wednesdays at four (bit confusing, it’s the same book published under two different titles)
There are also two spin-offs based on other shop owners in Blossom Street – Susannah’s Garden and Twenty Wishes which I haven’t read yet but I can feel another Amazon order coming on.
Her website http://www.debbiemacomber.com has lots of information on her books, some free patterns and recipes and is well worth a look.
