I haven’t fallen asleep during the knitting yet but I suspect it’s on the cards. It seems to me that the regular movements produced by a pattern sort of lull me and I feel my eyes start to close. I manage to bring myself back for a bit but not too long. Depending on how iminent I think sleep is, I may try and finish the row first or in severe cases, I’ll just put the knitting down somewhere safe mid-row because I know I won’t be able to stay awake any longer! Unfortunately it’s an occupational hazard for a knitter with M.E.!
Unfortunatly that’s not something I’m strugg;ing with at the moment. I seem to be in the can’t sleep won’t sleep stage at the minute. When I was first diagnosed I found knitting helpful for keeping me awake during the day so I could sleep at night.
