thanks everyone for the welcome. It’s really nice to have somewhere to go and get help and chat - I have been such a solitary knitter over the years mainly cos I didn’t know anyone else who knitted!

Know what you mean about the solitary bit, people look at me like I’m mad when I say I love to knit, like I should be ancient or something, great to be on this site with like-minded people, mind you my Grandma still knits and she’s 107!!!

Well done to your gran, hope i will still be knitting at that age,i would love to still be here when i am 107 and still knitting.

She reckons she knits for ‘the old people’! Gawd knows how old they are then!

I don’t suppose for a minute that she considers herself as being old.

Well done grandma....107 that is a wonderful and fantastic achievement.  My late husband’s aunt is 103 on 7th August and she still bakes her pancakes and sponges and potoato scones every Saturday morning.  Aren’t folks living so much longer now....

I think the brandy in warm milk most nights has helped the preservation process!!

I only have warm milk when really unwell, so thankfully not that often! Usual drink is water!!! I dont do myself any favours, do I? When I tell people I knit and dont drink much at all, the look of ‘old fart’ crosses their faces, I not that old!!!!!
