I’m close to casting off on a project and have noticed two mistakes near to the beginning of the work.  It involves increases and decreases.  I really can live with it.  But I would like a “second opinion” please. How many people leave small mistakes in there work (minimum of three or four)and how many frog it?

I’d frog it, if I’d noticed it straight away.  It’s a terrible decision though if you’ve only just noticed it now that you are near to casting off.

If YOU can live with it who’s to know? I have left mistakes before now, it all depends on the mistake. Something that is glaring at you as you hold it up needs frogging. But a mistake that only you know is there and cannot be seen in the light of day........ tongue wink

I’m becoming more fussy as I knit more, at one time, I would say s*d it, but it annoys me now, if it is a teeny weeny mistake and I was close to casting off, I think I would leave it, if it was on the back, or some place not really seen, but if it was in full view I would frog it I think, x Janet

I knitted my Hubby a black (am I mad?) basket weave shawl collar cardi - when he wore it for the first time I noticed an error in the sleeve pattern.  Now whenever I see it in his wardrobe I only think of the mistake!  I think I would have frogged it. But as I didn’t see it - who cares!!!  It shows it’s hand made!!!

In Japan\china etc (ie the far east) everything is made with a small mistake in ... they believe that only god (or gods) can create something perfect ... so creating something flawless is tempting fate ... so even experts add an intentional “mistake”.  Celebrate yours!!
