I purchased a copy of ‘Let’s Knit’ this morning and discovered this forum!
Very pleased to be here. I am a 40 something lifelong knitter living in suburbia with my husband, 2 teenagers, dog and cat. I work part time as a Practice Nurse and as well as knitting I read books. I have several knitting projects on the go at once and recently finished my first pair of socks. I was taught to knit by my grandmother who was a prolific knitter and crocheter, I can’t remember why though she didn’t teach me to crochet? That is one of my aims for this year. Looking forward to chatting on here.
Welcome happanddandy always nice to see a new face. I haven’t long joined myself and the hints and tips I ahve picked up are great. Though I am still strugling with resizing my photos. Leave it till I am in a better mood so as not to take a hissy fit and throw it out.
Hi happyanddandy...welcome to the forum. As the others have said it’ a friendly place and the banter is good...and there is always help at hand if you need it...so join in and have fun while you knit.
thanks everyone for the welcome. It’s really nice to have somewhere to go and get help and chat - I have been such a solitary knitter over the years mainly cos I didn’t know anyone else who knitted!

I only know one other knitter in my area to speak to. All my “knitty” friends are on here.

Know what you mean about the solitary bit, people look at me like I’m mad when I say I love to knit, like I should be ancient or something, great to be on this site with like-minded people, mind you my Grandma still knits and she’s 107!!!
