Nothing to do with knitting or hobbies I;m afraid, my car has just been damaged again by a drunk and drugged up youth of 17 who thought he could take it out on my car. 

I am so angry, I went after him but he said “i dont f’’’’’’g care”.  Ive had him knicked and am prosecuting because this is the fourth time my car has been damaged.  Three times it has been written off outside by other bad car drivers and now this. Got a driveway but not got £700 to drop the kerb, what is a person to do aye.

We are taking photos of this incident and sending it to the council to see if they will reduce the cost of a dropped kerb.  But seriously, the copper said “ he will probably just get a caution”.  The yob lives round the corner from me and now I am more on edge because of reprocussions.  What is a law abiding citizen to do.  I hate Dagenham and all that it stands for.

Thats bad,we used to get alot of that before we moved,they get away with murder nowadays,i hope you get it sorted and dealt with.

You’ve every right to be fuming Sues...it’s really terrible the damage these drunken thugs cause to other people’s property....and the punishments they hand out fromt the courts are just about as ridiculous.  As for the amount it costs to have your kerb dropped...!!!! why is it that if a house has a driveway the kerbs can’t be done when the roads and pavements are made.  I notice that when new very expensive houses are built anywhere here the kerbs are done automatically....so the owners have it all done for them.
I hope things work out for you Sues....and that you don’t have any repercussions from the ones who did the damage to your car.

I know that the wrong ‘uns spoil things for others and not everyone in Dagenham is bad. I used to hate going to anywhere in London and surrounding areas but there are still nice people about. Take heart that somewhere there is someone to do you a good turn to make up for the bad ones. It may not seem that way at the moment but I am a believer in KARMA.  He will get his one day. You never know, you might even be there to see it.

Good for you for being brave enough to go after him.  It makes me sick that these idiots can do what they like and just get away with it.  I too hope there’s no repercussions for you.

I hope he gets more than a caution. Its also a shame that you can’t sue him for the cost of the damage, maybe having to pay for something in their lives might make them a little more respectful.
Will the council not let you pay in installments for your drop kerb. Ours did which made up a little for the fact that you can only use builders approved by them who all fix the prices between them.( Another type of criminal).

So sorry to hear this.  It’s really sickening.  It’s the builders of new houses that put dropped pavements in, not the councils, which is why the councils charge.  I do think councils shouldn’t charge though, folk being able to use their drives helps keep roads and pavements clear.

I know what councils are like but--- could you get a friend buy some cement,sand and whats needed and get them to do it for you----- or are you in the position where you have to ask permission, threaten to sue them for the cost of the damages if its possible as its due to their negligence that you cannot access the drive. What do you think? Remember that you can have a free couselling session with a lawyer and most of them work on a no win no cost policy.

No wonder you’re angry!  Do be careful though.  It sounds as if you know this oik and if he drinks or takes drugs he could be unpredictable.  If he does try and cause more problems call the police immediately and keep a diary of what happens.

Hopefully you won’t need to though.

The Police came back last night (SOCO, Scene of Crime Officer) and said that the footprint the boy left on my car is really good.  Then the Police came round this morning to take my statement.

They rang me at lunch time today and said the boy has pleaded guilty and is going to court on 10 or 11th July.  Because he has not got anywhere to live, he will be detained.

I am a little concerned about reprocussions but to be honest, if people dont press charges and just let these kids and parents get away with this kind of stuff, there will be no better place to live. I do believe in Karma.

I wasn’t afraid when I had a go at the two boys (especially as I am only 5feet 6 and tubby) because I am from a big family. as long as you keep your distance from them lunging and keep being observant of their body language, you should be ok.  Afterall, bad words dont hurt me and I can give as good as I get.

I am going to finish my cushion cover now, just got some white flowers to crochet and stitch onto the black cushion.

We are all rooting for you

Hi Sues, good for you for sticking up for yourself. We had problems with `kids` drinking, smoking things they shouldn`t & throwing glass bottles over our garden wall, broken glass left on the path & condoms. We reported it to the police because they were making so much noise. Where I am there is a pathway that goes back down to the main road. There is a little house tucked away & the young couple, who had a baby, didn`t confront these youngters like we did. On several occasions when they were there, my hubby went out & asked them to keep the noise down. Some were great while others weren`t so. One night things were so bad we went out & confronted them. I pretended to take a picture on my mobile & one of the girls said I wasn`t allowed to do that, my reply was for evidence just in case anything happened. Things died down for a while then they started coming back but different ones this time. I asked our local PCSO to come around our way now & again & explained who was there. Apparently, these ones this time were really bad news, stealing from shops & peoples houses. Luckily, there are new people living in the tucked away house & as soon as it started again they put a stop to it thank god. Funnily enough me & hubby were talking about this earlier saying what was going to happen in the holidays. I would love to move but unfortunately cannot afford it.
