hi everyone niceto be here! I hope some one can help me out here. Iam knitting a cardigan straight on circ needles,Iseem to be getting on ok its knitting up fine and my tension is much improved! my problem is with the needles them selves i dont have much control over them i find iam having to hold the right hand needle quite firmly as it seems to want to go in a different direction! sorry if iam not explaining this very well. Both needles have a slight bend in them just before the cord and they are metal if thats any help.

Welcome to the forum Lelly.
The best thing to do with circs just before you use them is straighten them out by puttting them in some warm water and then straighten them by firmly holding them in your hand and running it down the length to remove any kinks etc. Bit late as you have started already though. Hopefully as your knitting grows the weight will pull them out. It’s because you store them curled up and so they naturally try to curl back into their former position.
Hope it explains it even if it doesn’t help this time.

Oi leave it out I like my tremor.  U never know if you’re going to drop that bone china teacup.  Adds a bit of excitement to an otherwise dull existence.

Not mine you understand - I lead a terribly exciting life....

Off to bed now.  Joking.

RE: Circular needles - yes warm water really will straighten them out - but I have found that unfortunately (you gets what you pays for) the cheaper needles have that lilt far worse than more expensive ones. If you can’t afford the dearer ones (I been using Addi Turbos recently and they are absolutely fantastic!) try using the shortest needle you can as that shouldn’t be able to turn about too much as you will be knitting on it!!

Oh Lelly - I not sure how good an idea soaking bamboo needles is!  They are wood after all…

If you don’t want to chance soaking bamboo ones, rather than risk it, buy some Addi Turbos.  They ARE metal but are so smooth and lovely to use.  It really is worth a go - and they DON’T need soaking!  Although it wouldn’t matter if you did cos they’re metal… cheese
