HI.I came down this morning to a 5th anniversary present and card.Cos we’ve been busy and arguing for fun lately I forgot the date.I now need to come up with something for him made from stuff in house as my car is in garage.Fifth is wood so I looked and have wooden knitting needles which I don’t want to sacrifice and 2 coctail sticks which I had earmarked for a lovely knitters brooch.Although he does sew up my knitting projects don’t think it will suit him.So I have got until 7 tonight to knit him something. He likes my knitted dishcloths but that is not very romantic.I have already knitted car air freshener.Does anyone have any ideas for dead quick knit present.Has to be simple cos all my knitting ends up as a major campaign.I made him a mobile phone case but I couldn’t just knit a rectangle. It took weeks of planning and research to find stitch and yarn that didn oh oh ‘t scratch phone and gave it padding.Anyone any ideas.HELP please.

NO NESSA - DON’T BE DAFT - IF THEY BEEN ARGUING A “PEPPER MILL WARMER” COULD JUST DO THE TRICK!  you could knit it really badly and once you tell him what it is he won’t give a jot!

You could knit handcuffs or a rope substitute???

See I been really good - avoided the obvious jokes about giving him wood for your anniversary!…

oo me? what, what did I do????? I just thought a nice young man would appreciate a warmer for his pepper pot. Of course as it is a special occasion Waggel could always push the boat out and make a fur lined one. That would stop the damp getting in.

Would you want to knit him a garment~?  I mean obviously not in a few hours, but what you COULD do is draw/write a beautiful “knitters voucher” for a garment knitted by you for him of his choosing.
See I can be serious

OR what about back to the warmer handcuffs and whip....

But obviously not for too long or you all be calling ambulances for me

Seriously tho for a quick project Flowergirls idea of a bottle carrier is good - either in big wool or multiple strands, knitted together.

I don’t feel well you know.  Think I may have been serious for too long.

What the ones in Colchester?  I think as I can (probably) run faster than you Gill, and I am (probably) closer to Colchester than you - go jump.  HA.  What am I saying I have my own “young-ish” man?  O well.  Maybe I will let you have a go Gill…

Hi You naughty lot.Making me laugh even though I am in the proverbial. Not got enough wool for pepper pot warmer.Bottle carrier brilliant idea cos he wanted me to do him one for work.(I think you being serious and I am not being thick and missing joke)We work outside and on the move so he wanted something to put a water bottle in to attach to his belt.Could probably adapt the one in Lets knit with loop for belt in a mesh stitch. Was looking for suitable stitch cool hmm  for one last night but could only find crochet version.Nearest I could get to what I wanted was a lace stitch.See I told you I would have to complicate things.Anyway thanks everyone and I hope none of you needed the loo cos I’ve given you such a good laugh.

If you have a pattern foe a fancy one use the stitch size but leave out the fancy pattern make it plain, put a cable up it, check the size and change wool stitches and needles if needed.
