Hi Ladyjayne...welcome to the forum...We’re a friendly bunch who love knitting and crocheting and...having a yarn..excuse the pun.  A lot of us on here have been knitting for a long time..and then there are some who are just taking up the craft for the first time....and it is great to be able to share our work with each other.  Put on some pictures of things you have done and take a look at some of the stuff others have posted...hope you enjoy the forum and we see plenty of posts from you.

Hi Ladyjayne - welcome to the Forum.  Just a quick word of warning - don’t mention socks.  Some of our lovely peeps are not too keen on them!

Hope you enjoy the Forum.  Don’t worry you can getaway with the odd mention of “s**ks” especially if it’s a quick one! oo err.

Nooooooooooooooooooo socks, bleugh!  I was contemplating the sock issue this morning on the loo, thinking surely apart from a bit of cabling or jazzy wools, knitting socks all the same shape, must be so dull.  But I suppose people say that about tops, toys, bags etc.  Good job we’re all different!

Welcome to the board Ladyjayne.

I’m sure some Forum members (Gill??) will say thinking about socks on the loo is the best place to do it - but you see I LOVE knitting my socks (although have only made two pairs!!) but that maybe for two main reasons - I have tiny feet (size 13 childrens - anybody says “Aah” gets a bullet in the head!) which makes it very difficult to get nice socks - if you want scooby doo you’re fine, but they’re not always appropriate are they!! Also the knitting club I attend is run by a lady who devised her own pattern for Socks, which is knit on two circular needles AND IS EASY TO DO!!  I always fancied having a go but was a bit scared of the 4 double pointers - this way I can have my socks and wear them!

I know what you mean Waggel, I went on Ravelry and accidentally (honest ossifer) pressed the button for “Naughty”. Cor, I had to do handstands a few times to work out what I was looking at, and when I had worked it out wished I hadn’t!  Oh if only I was slim enough to fit into a triangle topped, thong-bottomed bikini.

What’s that noise - sounds like several women puking their dinner up??

Hi
Like your sense of humour. You are on same wavelength as me.I can hear the tap tap of all the people accidentally putting in the word naughty to have a look at what you mean.I won’t of course at 42 far too young to look at stuff like that!!!Waggel

Well yes I did have to ask my Granny to tell me what these things were.  “I’ll tell you when you’re older” is all I got.  I think one of the things I saw was for keeping your pepper mill warm...???
